On Thursday, February 1, 2024, the Haifa Museum of Art opened a new exhibition showcasing Israeli art from the personal collection of Charles and Lynn Schusterman.

Curated by Limor Alpern, this exhibition, “A Sun-Kissed Land”, spans various artistic movements since the founding of the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts in 1906. Its inclusion of early 20th-century art significantly expands the Museum's collection and exploration of Israeli art history, which primarily highlights works from the 1950s to the 2000s.

"Many of the pieces come from before Israel was a state," Lynn Schusterman said at the opening reception. "The images and artifacts show how much early Zionists believed in their dreams. Their imagination and determination became a core part of Israel’s story. I hope that in viewing this collection, you’ll be inspired by Israel’s enduring strength.”

This article from The Jerusalem Post highlights how the Schusterman Collection complements the Haifa Museum of Art's permanent collection and recognizes the Schusterman family’s continued support for the museum and Israel.
