We are deeply shocked and saddened by the unprecedented attack in Israel today. Our thoughts are with the hundreds of civilians who have been killed, injured or taken hostage, as well as those who are mourning loved ones or in harm's way. We are holding close our Israeli colleagues, grantees and members of our programs who work tirelessly each day to support and strengthen Israeli society.
The significance of this attack occurring during Shabbat and Simchat Torah—holidays that symbolize peace and joy—only adds to the pain. Today and every day, we stand with the people of Israel, as we hope for a swift end to the war.
