Two members of a Tulsa family known for its generosity have been singled out for a prestigious international honor.

Officials representing the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy announced recently that Lynn Schusterman and her daughter, Stacy Schusterman, are among five honorees who’ve been selected to receive the medal this year.

One of the biggest honors in the field of charitable giving, it comes during what’s already a milestone year for the Schustermans, as they mark the 35th anniversary of the founding of Tulsa-based Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies.

The medals — presented by the family of Carnegie institutions as founded by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie — will officially be awarded Oct. 13 in a private ceremony in New York.

The other 2022 Carnegie recipients are Dolly Parton, Manu Chandaria and Lyda Hill.
