Abby believes that individual change drives organizational change and that leaders are at their best when they are leading from "the inside out." As Chief Talent Officer, Abby oversees Schusterman's talent, HR and culture work.
Previously, Abby shaped Schusterman's leadership development work as part of its U.S. Jewish portfolio, namely overseeing the Schusterman Fellowship program, which is focused on building the leadership capacity of senior executives within the Jewish sector.
Abby brings to Schusterman experience from the for-profit, nonprofit, Jewish and secular sectors. Abby was the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for BBYO, the world’s leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. During Abby’s five-year tenure with BBYO, she led an effort to re-brand the 85 year-old organization.
Following BBYO, Abby assumed the Executive Director role at Street Sense, a D.C.-based nonprofit organization that works to empower individuals facing homelessness through a newspaper educating the public about homelessness and poverty.
Abby holds a bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in Media and Public Affairs from The George Washington University and a Leadership Coaching certificate from Georgetown University's Institute for Transformational Leadership. However, it is really her yoga teaching certification and parenting two boys that have most influenced her approach to leadership.
