Roben is the Chief Communications Officer for Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, responsible for strategic external and internal communications and brand management for the organization’s global network of philanthropic portfolios and initiatives.
Roben works collaboratively with each team across the organization to drive a holistic narrative and multimedia strategy designed to amplify Schusterman’s work and impact. Roben oversees a team of communications professionals focused on thought leadership, media relations, messaging and content development, digital engagement and other activities.
Prior to joining Schusterman, Roben worked at digital agencies, with a particular focus on developing messaging and content for content for branding and marketing campaigns. She also has extensive editorial experience, serving both as a writer and editor for local, national and international outlets. Roben believes deeply in the power of communications to help create positive change.
Roben serves on the board of the Communications Network, the leading community of social sector communicators, as well as several local boards in her home community. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
