Angelica is a Senior Program Officer on the Education Grantmaking team, where she manages investments to support the recruitment, preparation, retention and advancement of a skilled and diverse educator workforce.

Before joining Schusterman, Angelica served as a Capital Commitment Fellow at DC Public Schools and a middle school ELA teacher, department head, and assistant principal at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston. She began her career as a 2007 Teach For America corps member in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, where she taught elementary bilingual reading.

Angelica holds a BA from the University of Michigan, an MPH from Harvard University, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a 2023 Board Fellow through Latinos for Education, and serves on the boards of Generation Teach, Ensemble Learning and Fort Worth STEAM Academy.
