Sarah is a Program Associate on the Education Grantmaking team where she collaborates across the Education portfolio to support the grantmaking and team-wide learning processes.
Prior to joining Schusterman Family Philanthropies, Sarah served as a 2019 Teach For America corps member in New York City, teaching middle school Special Education and US History. In this role, Sarah expanded her passion for culturally responsive teaching and accessible and inclusive instruction. As a COVID-teacher, Sarah understands the importance of social-emotional learning opportunities and is an advocate for student voice.
Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education, studying Youth and Social Innovation at the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development, and holds a master’s degree in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. She enjoys traveling with her family and friends, being in fresh air and trying new restaurants.
