Folarin is a Program Associate on the Education Grantmaking team. In this position, he focuses on researching, collecting and analyzing data to help inform the Education team’s grantmaking efforts.
Folarin's career in education began at Martin Luther King Elementary School in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC, where he spent four years teaching 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. While at King Elementary School, Folarin successfully advocated for a new writing curriculum to improve student outcomes, led SEL efforts to improve student behavior, and mentored students outside the classroom.
Folarin graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned a Master’s in Education Policy from Georgetown University. Folarin is passionate about creating equitable outcomes for Black and Latino communities through policy, advocacy and access to capital.
