Dr. Julia Kohn works as a Senior Program Officer for Gender and Reproductive Equity Grantmaking at the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies. She leads work to advance equitable access to contraception, abortion, and safe and dignified birthing options, and to advance reproductive justice more broadly.
Julia brings over 20 years of experience in the field of reproductive health and rights including roles in program evaluation and research as well as service delivery. Prior to joining Schusterman, she served as National Director of Research & Evaluation for Planned Parenthood Federation of America; Chief Experience Officer for Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey; Evaluator for the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene; and as an independent consultant for numerous nonprofit organizations. She also has experience in the areas of criminal justice, gender-based violence, and health policy and serves as an adjunct professor at New York University and Columbia Mailman School of Public Health.
Julia holds a PhD in Public & Urban Policy from the New School, a Master’s in Public Administration from New York University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New York University. She is based in New York City.
