Cassie Coddington is a Senior Program Officer for Education Grantmaking at Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies. She focuses on learning and research in service of classroom instruction that results in Black and Latino students experiencing a K8 literacy education that is on-grade level, engaging, affirming and meaningful. Cassie works collaboratively with staff across the Education portfolio to identify needs, opportunities and learnings and foster connections across the issues and geographic areas they support. 

Prior to joining Schusterman, Cassie served as the Partner of the Impact Team at The New Teacher Project (TNTP) where she led a team committed to telling the story of TNTP's impact for students farthest from opportunity. Before joining TNTP, Cassie spent time as an IES postdoctoral researcher at Georgia State University and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alabama. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at American University in the School of Education and the University of Alabama in the College of Education. 

Cassie holds a doctorate in Human Development with a specialization in Educational Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelors in Psychology and English from Mercer University. She enjoys spending time with her family doing outdoorsy things like hiking and camping, knitting and sewing. She generally tries to learn something new every day.
