Laurie Hazeley is a Director on the Education Grantmaking team, where she supports team members across the Education portfolios on team-wide strategic priorities.
Laurie started her career in education teaching 4th and 5th grades at PS 154 in the Bronx as a 2003 Teach For America corps member. She has served in a variety of roles within education in district and charter settings, including serving as Founding Operations Manager for KIPP Academy Elementary. Most recently, Laurie led charter authorizing at the New York City Department of Education, driving the vision and strategy of the authorizing team, supporting a portfolio of schools, and managing complex cross-divisional initiatives.
Laurie earned bachelor degrees in Marketing and Spanish Language & Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park and holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
